Reach Back, Offer a Hand

Senior Gift organizers

“Learn, Earn, and Return” was the theme for the 2010 Senior Gift Challenge, and the focus was the College Fund.

The College Fund channels gifts it receives to one or more of UT Knoxville’s 12 colleges, where those gifts go to work immediately, enabling the colleges to address their own unique needs. Technology upgrades, student enrichment activities, scholarships, and stipends to retain outstanding faculty members are just a few of the worthy uses of gifts to the fund.

Graduating seniors of the class of 2010 stepped up to the gift challenge by raising thousands of dollars—$19,931 to date—for UT’s colleges, and all them can take pride in knowing their gift is having an immediate positive impact on the educational experience of students following in their footsteps.

Since its establishment in 1991, the Senior Gift program has been a conduit through which graduating seniors can show their loyalty to their alma mater by supporting scholarship endowments and permanent campus monuments. This year was the first that gifts went entirely to the colleges, where they will be gratefully received and used well.

It’s not too late to participate!
