“The national champion is clad in big orange!”

These words from announcer John Wilkerson (’88) came as Vol baseball claimed its first national championship on June 24 on an electric night in Omaha, Nebraska.

Tennessee defeated Texas A&M in game three of the Men’s College World Series to secure the title and wrap up an unforgettable season. Take a look at some of the records broken and historic firsts and feats.

Following the big win, more than 50,000 fans came out to downtown Knoxville on June 25 to celebrate the new national champs with a parade on Gay Street and an event with the team in Market Square.
