11. Alumni Night at VolShop

Need some new UT gear? If you’re in town on Friday, November 8, you can come by the VolShop (formerly the UT Bookstore) and receive a 20 percent discount on all regularly priced merchandise. Don’t forget to say the secret word—“Alumni.”

10. Stompfest

National Pan-Hellenic fraternities and sororities will be doing lots of high stepping at the annual Southeastern Stompfest on Saturday, November 9. Take a look below at Delta Sigma Theta’s step routine from last year’s Today show visit.

9. Tailgates and Reunions

Getting together with like-minded Vols is one of the great things about Homecoming. And this year there are plenty of opportunities to get some good food and catch up with old friends. The Colleges of Business Administration, Communication and Information, Engineering, and Law are all welcoming alumni to pregame celebrations. Find out about more events at volsconnect.com/homecoming.

8. Parade and Little Vols Walk

Come out to Volunteer Boulevard to catch the excitement of the parade with all of the decorated floats and Volunteer spirit you can handle. There’s nothing cuter than a little one decked out in orange and white. Bring your little Vol (ten and under) to be in the Homecoming parade. Don’t forget that they can march or ride on a decorated tricycle or four-wheel vehicle. Register at tiny.utk.edu/L2rtJ.

7. The Elf on the Shelf®

UT Elf on the ShelfIt won’t exactly be the holidays, but that won’t stop us from welcoming home Carol Aebersold (’70), the creator of The Elf on the Shelf®. She’ll be the grand marshal of the Homecoming parade on Friday and host a special showing of An Elf’s Story™ TV special for the little ones ten and under.

6. Party in the Park

It’s gonna be one big party in Circle Park on Saturday. There will be live entertainment, cheerleaders, music, games for the kids, and plenty to eat—including a piece of the world’s largest MoonPie! Register at tiny.utk.edu/vpbxO.

5. Gameday Traditions

Neyland Stadium, running through the T, Vol Navy, the Vol Walk, checkerboard endzones, the Rock—need we say more?

4. That Volunteer Spirit

UT-FANS

What could be better than being in a sea of orange and white, cheering at the top of your lungs with all the other Vols around you?

3. Pride of the Southland Marching Band and “Rocky Top”

Nothing stirs the soul of a Volunteer quite like the sound of “Rocky Top” coming from our own marching band. Take a listen to the band with Peyton Manning at the helm.

2. Smokey

It’s been sixty years since fan applause chose Smokey as UT’s mascot in 1953. Smokey X made his debut at the Orange and White game back in the spring, but Homecoming is a good chance to come out and hear Smokey howl again!

1. We’re Ready to Rise to the Top!

It’s a new era for Tennessee football, and Coach Butch Jones and his Vols are ready to rise to the top.
