Family Boasts Nine UT Alumni

The Kostrzewa siblings love UT, and they have the degrees to prove it.

Nine of the ten Kostrzewa siblings attended UT, earning between them eleven undergraduate and graduate degrees. Between the years of 1985 and 2010, there was at least one Kostrzewa sibling on UT’s campus.

The alumni siblings include Theresa (BS ’88), Richard (BS ’91), Joseph (BS ’92), Maria (PhD ’09), Krystyna (BA ’97, MA ’99), Thomas (BS ’98), John (BS ’00), Roseanna (BS ’06, PharmD ’10), and Monica (BS ’10).

Eight of the Kostrzewa siblings came back to campus this past weekend for a little tailgating and to watch the Vols take on Missouri.

“Our parents placed a big emphasis on education (our father is a professor at ETSU in Johnson City), which is why they sacrificed to make sure we all received degrees,” says Thomas Kostrzewa (’98). “UT provided an accessible option for that to happen.”

“We’re all big Vol fans, and though there are always members of our family attending games in Knoxville each year, we’re spread out across the country, and rarely do we get so many of us together here at once.”
