Meet the Entrepreneurs

Take a look at a few recent alumni and a student whose businesses were helped by the Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The center itself, originally approved in 2009 under a different name, was helped along the way by a gift from Charlie and Moll Anderson. In 2010, the center took on the Anderson name and saw acceleration in its programs and successes for its students.

Business: Founded in 2010, Casenova produces a single-strap backpack that redistributes weight evenly throughout the body to reduce stress on the back. Business: Founded in 2009, Foundation Mobile develops games for smartphones. The game Lumi was named Apple Game of the Week and Editor’s Choice in 2012. The company has released six other titles, two of which have hit the million-download mark. The company has offices in San Francisco, Sydney, and Manila. foundationgames.com

Major: Exercise Science (BS) and Kinesiology (MS)
Business: Founded in 2012, PowerUp Fitness is designed to help children enjoy exercise and attack obesity. The program trains educators to incorporate physical education into the school day. PowerUp classes seek to improve self-esteem, reduce childhood obesity, and shape positive attitudes by making fitness fun.
