Laszlo P. Horanyi, of Kingwood, TX, died August 22, 2011. Born in Budapest, Hungary, he came to the U.S. in 1949 to pursue the American dream as told to him by the American soldiers who had helped him leave Hungary at the end of WWII. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. The Reserve Officer Training Corp (R.O.T.C.) earned him his U.S. Citizenship and lead to a long career as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Laszlo retired from the Army and in 1966 pursued his second career as a dietician. For many years he and his wife ran a successful consulting company called Hospital Dietetics Consultants, Inc.
