Alumna Wanda Rushing (Ph.D. ’98), now a sociology professor at the University of Memphis and author of Memphis and the Paradox of Place: Globalization in the American South (UNC Press), is the editor of The New Encyclopedia of Southern Culture: Volume 15: Urbanization, published this month by the University of North Carolina Press.
