Alumni Summer College is an opportunity to return to campus for five days filled with fun, fellowship, and outstanding presentations by faculty, staff, and other experts on topics related to the program theme. All lectures are informal and audience participation is encouraged.
Every Alumni Summer College program offers our students something unique. Some past program themes include the following: Energy, Americans at War, Animal Adventure, How Things Work, and Snapshots of the South.
Alumni Summer College is open to the public; you do not have to be an alumnus of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, to attend.
This summer, participants will explore a cornucopia of ideas and topics related to food and also visit two famous sites of Southern culinary lore—Blackberry Farm and the Biltmore.
Alumni Summer College has a proud history of featuring some of UT’s finest faculty and staff speakers; the 2009 menu is no exception. Participants will get a taste of food science, wine and viticulture, field-to-table initiatives, nutrition, organic farming, food and terrorism, the global food supply, and other appetizing topics.
