Business graduate Tonya Hinch ’85 was recently recognized for her achievements and her service to UT Knoxville as part of a new initiative called the Accomplished Alumni Program.

Through this program, alumni who have made significant achievements in their careers and communities are invited to campus to speak, team teach with faculty members, or participate as special guests in university events. Hinch was on campus as a guest speaker for Young Alumni Weekend. She spoke to a crowd of about 70 young alumni about personal finance.

Hinch was the first to be honored thorough the Accomplished Alumni Program. She is a life coach and former Fortune 500 executive who has worked for such organizations as Edison Schools, Ultrafem Inc., Neutrogena, Clairol, and Procter and Gamble. She now shares her experience with others through seminars, events, and personal coaching (see her website, retiringbackwards.com, for more info).

“Tonya has led a distinguished career in business and serves as a wonderful role model for UTK students and alumni,” says Patrick Wade, UT alumnus and director of the program. “We’re particularly grateful for the time she has shared with her alma mater in teaching students and alumni about business, leadership, and personal finance.”
